Bir is a small town amid mountains of Dhauladhar range of Himalayas, India and Billing is the jumping point at altitude of 9000 Ft. Para Glider jumps from Billing to land at Bir. Bir- Billing have become quite popular among adventure sports enthusiast as it offers a beautiful natural paragliding spot, favorable weather and wind along with green meadows. The place offer natural jump point at Billing and a plain landing spot at Bir and Chaughan village.

 

ORIENTATION

 

Bir is situated in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh India in Baijnath region. Bir can be reached by road or train. It is 50 km drive from Dharamshala and is the next stop to Baijnath.Two to three hours drive from Dharmashala and Four to five hours drive from Pathankot via Gagal, Palampur and Baijnath. One can take Bus from Pathankot towardsJogindernagar or Mandi and get down at Bir. Taxi can also be booked from Pathankot.

It can also be reached by toy train that runs between Pathankot & Joginder Nagar. The nearest railway station is Ahju.
On the north of Bir is Billing, a 14 km drive. It has Dharamshala towards the west and towards its North east is Manali. Billing lies on the way to the Thamsar Pass leading to Bara Bhangal.

Route 1. : Delhi – Chandigarh – Kiratpur – Una – Mubarkpur/Paragpur – Dehra – Kangra – Palampur – Bir -Billing:-530 km.
Route 2. Delhi – Chandigarh – Kiratpur – Bilaspur – Mandi – Jogindernagar – Bir-Billing :-520 km.
Route 3. : Manali – Mandi – Jogindernagar – Bir-Billing:-180 km.
Route 4. : Dharamshala – Palampur – Bir – Billing:-70 km.
Route 5. : Pathankot – Palampur – Bir – Billing:- 140 km.

TREK TO BILLING

Bir-Billing is a paradise for trekking enthusiasts. Bir-Billing is one of the best places for trekking in the Himalayas region here you can enjoy adventure. The season for low altitude trek in Bir-Billing starts in April and season for high altitude trek in September Month.

The route can be covered in 4-5 hours and terrain which is not much difficult. Though there is section where climb is steps and strenuous.

If you flying first time here in Billing. Our Pilots are experienced, trained and know all the flying zones here. Bir-Billing Paragliding is quite safe, pilots here are experienced in tandem flights (2 person fly in one paraglider – one is pilot and other person is for joy ride). All the control and direction handled by pilot. Pilot flying with you have knowledge of air speed, altitude, clouds, wind, temperature and the route required for safe flight, you just enjoy the flight and he handle the rest.
